Mild or Mild Silver

Both blends are made from the same seven herbs. The difference lies in the ratio and the cut: Mild stays restrained, Mild Silver has a little more edge. Both come in a 10 g and a 25 g pouch. If you are not sure which blend suits you, start with the small pouch.

Not just another alternative

Why we built Ritual Herbs

Ritual Herbs was not created to put yet another herbal blend on the shelf. The idea was bigger: a product that lets adults do without classic tobacco without giving up their ritual. The movement of the hands stays, the break stays, only the industrially processed tobacco falls away. We deliberately address cannabis users directly: anyone wanting to mix hemp without tobacco needs a material that distributes evenly and does not drown out the flavour.

This is not a health promise, and we do not make one. It is a decision against an industrial product that many people only keep smoking out of habit. Three years of development sit behind it so far, with approaches that were discarded again and raw materials that sounded good in theory and did not convince in practice. What is left of all that is now in front of you in two pouches. Investors and supporters carried this route with us while much was still open. The product itself was always at the centre of it.

Ritual Herbs is meant for adults who already smoke and want to switch deliberately, not for taking up smoking. Anyone who has not smoked so far will find no reason here to start. Anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding or has a respiratory condition should not smoke at all, tobacco-free or otherwise. That kind of restraint is part of an honest brand as far as we are concerned, even though it sells worse than a big promise.

Openly declared

Seven herbs, no collective terms. What is on the pack is what is in it, nothing more.

Three years of development

Cut, moisture and blend ratio are the result of our own process techniques, not of a standard recipe.

Made in Germany

Raw materials mainly from Europe. Blending, cutting and quality control happen in Germany.

The real difference

Burning cleanly: cut and moisture

Read user reports on tobacco substitutes and you will find almost always the same complaints. Embers falling out. Paper tearing. A burn that wanders off to one side. That is almost always down to the cut and the residual moisture, not to the recipe. Which is exactly where we invested three years: in a cut that is neither too coarse nor too fine, and in a moisture level that rolls loosely without scratching the throat.

That is why both pouches are resealable, and that is not an accessory but part of the concept. An open pack loses enough moisture within a few days to turn a good blend into a scratchy one. How we balance cut, structure and moisture in detail, and how to spot it yourself in someone else's product, is set out at length on the range page.

Every batch is checked before it ships: the cut, the residual moisture, the smell. Not every batch we test makes it into the shop, and that is deliberate. Better a delivery later than a blend that scratches in the paper or drops half its ember on the table.

Clear. Honest. Traceable.

Seven herbs, no secrets

No collective terms, no undeclared additives. Mullein, blackberry leaf, lotus flower, hollyhock, turmeric leaf and liquorice are in both blends, only in different proportions. You will look in vain on the pack for added flavourings or humectants – that is a principle here, not an exception. All the portraits and origin details are on the ingredients page. Deliberately absent are plants that dominate the taste quickly, such as mint or cinnamon in larger amounts.

Where the herbs come from

Europe as the base, India as a complement

The bulk of our raw material comes from Europe. In addition we work with partners in India and assess selected, wild-collected herbs there. That connection grew rather than being bought in: our managing director lived in Asia for seven years and is still there regularly to get to know suppliers and growing areas in person, particularly away from the usual catalogues and middlemen. New samples come in continuously, and each is checked and then tested at leisure before any of it is allowed into a blend. Many conversations about origin and cultivation can only be had on site anyway, not over the phone.

The processing still happens in Germany. Blending, cutting and quality control take place here so that the twentieth pouch turns out like the first. Every plant has to fit the recipe beforehand, the cut and the way it should behave as it burns. Not everything we have assessed made it into one of the two blends. What matters to us is raw material kept as natural as possible, grown without artificial fertiliser and processed without chemical treatment.

Frequently asked questions about Ritual Herbs

Ritual Herbs are two finely cut herbal blends made from seven openly declared plants, without tobacco and without nicotine. They are meant for adults who want to keep their familiar smoking ritual but leave industrially processed tobacco out of it, whether neat or mixed with hemp.

Not primarily the ingredient list but the processing. We spent three years on cut, moisture and blend ratio, because that is what decides whether a blend rolls cleanly and burns evenly instead of scratching or crumbling away.

Because selected, wild-collected herbs that suit our recipes are assessed and sourced there. Our managing director lived in Asia for seven years and still maintains those contacts personally, with visits directly to the growers. The processing still takes place in Germany.

No. Burning herbs also produces smoke containing carbon monoxide and other combustion products, whether or not tobacco is involved. Without nicotine, though, the substance that creates physical dependency falls away. We deliberately make no health promise.

Yes. Tobacconists, kiosks, head shops and CBD shops can buy the range as resellers. A short enquiry through the contact page is enough; further information, terms and samples follow directly afterwards.
